The Human drops from the sky and lands in front of Diamond Casino, strings attached to hands and feet.

The Human doesn’t know where they are, this world is new to them. Slowly looks around. Tries to sit up.

A machine gun falls from the sky into their hands.

Human is shocked and tries to throw the weapon away, but it is stuck to their hand. Before The Human realizes what is going on, they are lifted by the strings and forced to run.

Meanwhile in the background The Algorithm comes on stage, looks at the situation with a satisfied and a little evil face and slowly nods ‘YEAAAAA’ thinking ‘this is my paradise’ and starts dancing and drumming on a higher platform with a metal floor and two cymbals on it. The Casino score starts playing. The Human still doesn’t see The Algorithm, who controls and observes the situation from a Godlike perspective.

The gun starts to fire, bodies fall to the ground spectacularly (action movie deaths)

Guy comes running while cursing at Human but gets pierced by bullets
Sound and lights of police car, police officers shoot and die
Cars crash, buildings light up in flames.

Human tries to get rid of the gun again, but can’t.

Human

What the fuck? I don’t want this to happen!

Suddenly everything stops.

Human

I made it stop!

Buffering assistant

(laughs and comes on stage while turning her circle)
Hahaha, no you didn’t! The scene is too heavy, it just needs some more buffering.

Human watches the buffering circle go round and round.

Even the band and the dancing Algorhythm stop/freeze in their position for a little moment, so the Human gets a little hope of having power.

Buffering assistant

Almost there! (to the audience) Enjoy!

Buffering is over, normal sounds of violence return, shots fired, people dying. Buffering assistant disappears.

The music also starts again and Algorithm starts dancing again.

Human is out of ammo – gun goes click, click, click.
Fighter manages to get to Human for a 1 on 1 Matrix style combat. Fighter has a knife, misses the human but cuts their strings. The human is freed, but the gun is still in their hands.

At this point the Human sees The Algorithm, who just drummed a continuous rhythm, then lets go of the drumsticks and waves at the Human in a teasing, evil but also sensual way while we still hear that rhythm (it is magic!). We see through Algorithms artificiality but also magic power at the same time. Algorithm has the evil (Twin Peaks-like, uncanny) laughing moment.

The Human looks at the fighter, then at the gun, positions the gun as if they’re going to shoot the fighter, then hits him in the head with the gun. The fighter passes out.

Other fighters appear, Human looks around, terrified, sees the casino and the bouncer/firewall, runs to him to find rest and safety. Bouncer looks at them, makes violent gestures (gorilla-like? taekwondo?) towards the fighters, who back off.

Bouncer

(very sweet)
It’s okay, sir, it’s okay. Having a rough day? You are welcome to forget all your problems in the Diamond Casino. Now you stick to me and gamble your problems away!

Human

T… T… Thank you!

Bouncer

But what’s that I see?

The bouncer takes the gun from the human’s hands.

Bouncer

(still very sweet)
I’m sorry sir, but we at the Diamond Casino do not approve of violence. We are peace-loving honest tradesmen and women.

Human

I’m so sorry, so sorry, all that blood, but you know, it’s not my gun. I don’t know where it came from. The Algorithm took me here, I…I….

Bouncer

That’s okay sir. (wipes some sweat from the human’s face) We don’t blame you for anything. We know how it goes. One moment you’re in a quiet room somewhere, the other you’re fighting zombies with a machete. That’s life. It’s best to just roll with the punches.

The bouncer kisses the human on their forehead.

Bouncer

Now, (getting into character again) how many chips do you want?

The band starts playing different music, more thriller-like.

The Algorithm leaves the godlike perspective and leads the Cookies onstage to surround the human and the bouncer.

They don’t speak, just look at them. Human feels uneasy.

The Algorithm screams in a backwards kind of language to make the Cookies start the Haka choreography with stamping, body clapping, absurdist breaks and sounds and human imitation moves (reminding of swiping, moving an electronic mouse), like they are voodooing The Human´s addictive internet behaviour, revealing their back-end system. The haka is performed very seriously and is not only evil and threatening but also a little hilarious, absurdist and from another world.

After the haka, one after one the cookies jump at the bouncer in an attempt to get into the casino. But the bouncer is big and strong and fast and keeps all the cookies out (like a pinball machine).

Then the cookies start to cry.

Cookies

Please accept us, please accept us, please!

Bouncer

No! I can’t let you in. They don’t call me bouncer Firewall for nothing! Identify yourselves!

Algorithm snaps her fingers and Chief-Cookie is walking towards her. She whispers something in his ear and then slaps his but in the direction back to the Bouncer in a motivational but also condescending way.

Chief-Cookie

We are the Cookies, you know. The sweet sweet Cookies. All we want is to be accepted the way we are. Can´t you just agree with that? There won’t be any trouble, we´ll just mind everybody else´s business like we always do. And by the way…letting us in… sir…it’s for your own safety.

The bouncer is confused. S/he has to make a decision.

Bouncer

Okay, you know what? I’ll let you in. One by one.

The cookies form a line.

Cookie 5

Cookie 3

Hey, social cookie! If we can’t go in, you shouldn’t either!

Cookie 2

No way, I’m going in!

The band starts playing and The Algorithm goes back to tap dancing and drumming from the godlike perspective. Algorithm and band are back in the violence-accompanying music mode.

The cookies turn on each other, they yell and shout and call each other names. Their quarrels soon escalate into violence and chaos. Human looks scared and abhorred.

Human

Not again!

Cookie 5 (the diva) picks up the human’s gun that the bouncer had put aside. (s)he starts to shoot other cookies.

Bouncer goes into the casino and returns with a flamethrower.

Bouncer

Shut up, all of you, or we’re gonna have some burnt cookies here!

Cookies

Nooooo!

Before the bouncer can start firing, the scene freezes.
The buffering assistant comes on again.

Human

Can I go now?

Buffering assistant

We are buffering now, you can’t leave. Just a moment please.

Human

You don’t understand, I need to leave, i don’t want to be here

Buffering assistant

We are buffering now, you can’t leave. Just a moment please.

Human

Please let me go!

Buffering assistant

We are buffering now, you can’t leave. Just a moment please.

The Human panics, loses it completely. Out of panic and madness The Human takes the Flame thrower and wants to end it all.

Human

I will make it stop!

Server

No! Stop! I thought you were different. What are you doing! I will disconnect you!!

Disconnect everything.
